What’s going on in the world 🌍 is beyond belief. Mother Nature needs us to wake up now.
As a species we’ve spent centuries using her resources frivolously and in the last 100 years have caused so much damage with the explosion & McDonaldization of industry, in order to support cheap and fast consumption - the very fabric of North American culture 🤦🏽♂️ .
It’s still crazy to me that only 1/3 of the world lives with the privilege and access we do. 🙇🏻♀️ This said, THIS way is definitely in NO way the way that people need to live if we are to survive. Not when our excess rides on the back of people, earth, creatures of present and future generations. Something needs to give. And it definitely has.
We can’t sit around and wait for policies and governments to wake up and change. They’ve known for decades and have let us watch as we burned and flooded our own planet 🤒
We must be accountable for ourselves and push for changes because we look at history we can see most big ones have come from action, from civil disobedience of “expected behavior”, which propelled a shift in things🤔.
The mantra of profit of planet needs to be flipped on its head. Let’s do our best to take MORE responsibility for the health of our home and inspire others to understand and do the same. Yes, paper straws, electric cars, sustainable energy, veganism, etc and beyond are great progress, but not enough! Let’s keep going humans ♻️.
